Scott Morrison (pictured), like so many others, conflates waste with a real and measurable effort to tackle the climate crisis.
The Australian PM was campaigning last week in Queensland on behalf of that State’s Liberal Party, and “selling” the new Federal Budget when he visited the Visy waste facility and claimed he was doing something for the future of young Australians.
Rather than actually doing something that might help slow the climate crisis, he was simply saying: “Keep buying, keep the industries busy, keep the waste coming as we can handle it”, rather than suggesting, in any way that people needed to step back from their buying of stuff, creating waste and so causing an ever-increasing use of fossil fuel, the fuel that predominantly drives the makers of that “stuff”.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
