Mark Carter (pictured) is the Chewton-based spokesman for Flight Free Australia and in this conversation explains how the fledging group evolved, what it’s goals are and also talks about the impact flying has on the climate crisis.
He, and those with him on the Flight Free Australia “flight crew”, believe that a decision not to fly is the most significant action individuals can make if they are to reduce their carbon footprint.
Once people make the decision not to fly they can make a public statement about their intent, by making a pledge on the group’s website, downloading and printing the pledge, taking a “selfie” holding pledge, return it to Flight Free Australia and then having it published to tell the world.
